Smells like Bieber fever

Spray, sniff, spray, sniff, spray, sniff and repeat twice more. A commercial for Justin Bieber’s new sweet and fruity fragrance for girls, Someday, has the pocket-sized pop star appearing in the spritzer’s bedroom. The small, seductive singer leans in for a few whiffs before taking them on a journey through the clouds.

But, the blondie featured in this commercial looks a little like Justin’s girlfriend, Selena Gomez, who allegedly stopped wearing the perfume. According to reporters, Gomez wore the fragrance that was released this June until she discovered Justin’s mom wears the scent. As reported, she also believes the smell is created for fans anyway.

Gomez may have a point. Bieber fans are definitely buying, and the product is expected to rake in $30 million. If Justin wants to set any records, however, he has got some solid competition. Beyonce’s Heat made $3 million at Macy’s in its first month of availability and Britney Spears saw about $30 million come in for her fragrance Curious in just three months of sales.

These big names are no match for the Biebs, that is, in the beauty department. He’s proven this with knockout sales of his nail polish collection designed last year when teamed with Nicole by OPI. The color bottles had been cleverly named after the pop star’s hits.

When naming his fragrance, Bieber stuck with his more recent theme of inspirational titles. Like his 3-D documentary and concert film “Never Say Never,” the perfume label Someday is meant to encourage fans. “It explains a dream. Someday I will drive a BMW. Someday I will be an astronaut,” the pop star told PEOPLE.

The product will undoubtedly motivate because, according to Bieber, all proceeds will go to charity. Funds include Pencils of Promise, an organization that builds schools, and Make-A-Wish foundation.

The pop-star spoke about creating an aroma for men stating, “I’m not opposed to it, but I’m more into how females smell.” Sorry guys, looks like the Biebs won’t be sharing any secrets as to how he gets the ladies.

However, being a lady-killer isn’t always easy. The megastar was nearly trampled at a promotion at Macy’s in New York City. At least the next time Justin is nearly squashed, he will be bombarded by the smell he reports having full involvement in developing.

The bottle is topped with plastic pink hearts assembled to look like a flower. It also includes a removable crystal heart and key charm. At Macy’s, a 3.4 oz. bottle can be purchased for $55 and a 1.7 oz. bottle is sold at $45. The star also made sure fans could smell completely irresistible with his 4.2 oz. bottle of hair mist for $20 and 6.8 oz. body lotion for $25.
