Students don't have to be in debt forever

Author // Alyssa Flynn

Plan: Go to college, graduate from college, get a good paying job that pays the bills.

For some students, this plan was instilled in them before they came to college. Since student debt is on the rise, it seems like installing the robotic plan is the only option to make it easier on pocket books.

As students, we are sometimes forced to choose between a field we love and one that will make more money; parents might throw out suggestions that focus more on money than what students really want to do. Therefore, some students are forced to choose between majors.

It's not fair to those who have a passion for something that won’t make a lot of money. Other times, a student falls in love with a major that's hard to go into without having a master's degree — which means some students will have to spend more money and take out more loans, forcing them further into debt.

In the end, we all have to pay back the debts we racked up over the years. Sometimes there is no way for a student to pay back his or her debts. Some parents refuse to pay back the loans they take out to help pay for their students’ schooling. When that happens, the government can begin to garnish wages or take out money from a paycheck.

Video blogger Chescaleigh made a parody of Beyonce’s Countdown, in which she sings about financial problems. In the video, she expresses how some college students will feel after or before graduation.

However, there are ways to pay back what a student owes; there are payment plans that can be installed on a bank account. When a plan is installed it can be paid back easily. So, students should choose what they want and not their parents. Let's hope there is no need to use the plan that is asked by parents.
