Nail trends for 2012

I discovered the use of tape for nails from my student success leader and I thought they looked great. I tried using tape on my nails and it was somewhat successful; patience is key when wanting to use tape on nails. The lack of patience lead to the nail color coming off when taking the tape off of the nails.
However using tape for designing for nails are not the only things you can do to your nails. Here are some ideas for the year:
Try making half moon nails. Supplies needed: two colors, paper reinforcements, top and optional base coat. Keiko Lynn, an online fashion blogger, did these nails that were inspired by shoes from a fashion show. The nails have two colors, and the first layer of color is done in one coat. Once the first coat is done then use the paper reinforcement on your nail on the “moon” of your nail and use the second color to go over the first color.
According to Glamour.com, having “classic-red” nails and nude colors, among others are something to look out for.
On Refinery29.com they give a list of colors that are currently used or may be used in the coming months. Greens, sparkles, oranges, neon, pastels, blues and pinks are the colors listed on the site.
All of these colors can be bought at the University Bookstore, generally for $1.99.
Another thing to look out for that is not on the list is having a matte finish to nails instead of the normal shiny finish.
