Stumble upon your life
If you’re tired of searching for specific topics through search engines such as Google and Yahoo or you’re merely looking for more entertainment in your life, you should look into signing up for stumbleupon.com. Not only is it very useful for looking up anything you can think of, but also it is addicting, entertaining and 100 percent free.
Stumbleupon.com works similarly to a search engine in the sense that it helps you to find particular topics, but it is much more entertaining and helpful.
Michelle Perchinske, freshman pre-nursing major, says she had never heard of the website, but she says she would be interested in signing up for it. “It’s annoying with Google because it will bring up random stuff I don’t want,” Perchinske says. “This would be helpful to find things.”
There is a downside to this website, you will lose a chunk of time out of your day without realizing. We all know how Facebook passes the time quickly by checking in on friends or if some will admit it, creeping on others. Instead of losing time in your day to creeping around Facebook, why not try to lose time to learn new things? Time is crucial, so use it wisely.
Megan Jackson, sophomore pre-nursing major, says she learned very quickly how addicting and entertaining this website is. About a month ago, right before her finals week, her friends told her about stumble, but warned her to wait until after finals week to start using it. While stumbling, Jackson says she enjoys looking through topics like fashion, health and music.
“I really like it,” Jackson says. “I’ll pick things I’m interested in and find things I wouldn’t think to search for.”
Stumble works by having a list of topics to choose from. Once you select a topic or multiple topics, you click Stumble, which will start you on your website adventures. If you’re looking for a good laugh, the humor topic is quite helpful in that department. The bizarre/oddities is also an interesting topic to venture in to. Some of the things you will stumble upon under this topic will be fascinating, hilarious or just plain weird. Regardless, you will never cease to be amused. The thing that could possibly happen during your stumbling: you don’t like what you come across, so you simply stumble onto the next website.
Benjamin Hottensmith, freshman music major, says he finds his time being consumed by this website. Hottensmith says he usually likes to look up space related things or nature photography, but he still enjoys looking into a little bit of everything.
“I’m on it at least once a day,” Hottensmith says. blog comments powered by Disqus
