With “performative male” contests causing Clairo-loving, matcha-sipping and Labubu-accessorizing “performative males” to flock to college campuses, a Kent State student decided to host a Performative Masc Lesbian Contest, which put a queer spin on the trend, on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025.
A crowd of students formed on the K at 12 p.m., listening to masculine-identifying lesbians share why they were more performative than the eight other contestants.
Following the arguments, aeronautical studies freshman Cora Russell was named the most performative masc lesbian.
