Indivisible, a grassroots organization with the mission to defeat the Trump agenda and who organized the No Kings protest, announced that nearly 7 million people attended the Saturday, Oct.18 No Kings protest, making it “the biggest single-day protest against tyranny in American history.”
According to the No Kings protest website, 2,7000 peaceful protests occurred in all 50 states, which made this past No Kings protest day “14 times larger than both of Trump’s presidential inaugurations combined.”
Kent was no exception to these high numbers with students and community members alike flooding Water Street with signs demanding “No Kings, Only Queens,” “Veto the Cheeto” and “Imagine being afraid of diversity, but not fascism” from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Following the nationwide protests, Indivisible is hosting Mass Call: What’s Next After No Kings?, a virtual discussion on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 8 a.m., to discuss their next actions. However, there are already plans in Washington D.C. for more protests against the Trump agenda like The Fall of the Trump Fascist Regime on Nov. 5 at 11 a.m. organized by Refuse Fascism!
